| Like other plants, variety, environmental conditions, and experience of the grower all affect the quality of the raw material. Curing the leaf also plays an important role since improper handling can render a harvest almost impotent. NAP is privileged to have all their leaf come directly from the Mazatec Indians themselves, the indigenous people that have been caring for this plant for centuries. This fact ensures us that our leaf is of the highest quality. Most commercial Salvia, although produced in the Mexican state of Oaxaca, is grown by novice farmers and is average, at best. |
